Dont know how to sell.

i have sold a few things, is quite useful
earn a few cash????, good grammar
lets say u have a mobile phone thats fairly new, still available new, retails for $500, u want $300 but will sell for $200, start the auction at $50, then wait for it to go up,
just remember to talk it up, make it sound like a bargain, if u start it at 99 cents, then it gets ppl looking,
there was a GZ10 soarer on there the other day, started at $1, yes one dollar, sold for like $4500
or could end up like this

registered post is the good shit that is tracked (to an extent) and you get the option of the other person having to sign for it, or pick it up at the post office. as opposed to dropping it in your letterbox. its more secure, and there is waay less of a chance that your package will be lost. you can get insurance on it for dirt cheap too.

Some sort of paper? give me some ideas guys, never really packaged and sent items before.

Bubble wrap, tissue paper or just scrunched up regular paper with stickytape holding it around the item would work best!

yup, making a box out of some packing cardboard is the easiest and best way.
ALWAYS send things you have sold by registered post or it will bite you in the arse. it costs all of $2.35, and then $1.05 for each $100 of insurance.
specify on your auctions that the item MUST BE SENT REGISTERED, or it will nto be sent.
and pack nicely... ppl apreciate when things arrive in good nick...
i bought a car brochure of yahoo auctions and it was packed with remarkable care.. 3 layers of bubble wrap, thick cardboard backing, then in a heavy satchel.... i like
and if you are gonna sell a few things, buy a roll of bubblewrap if you can't find/steal any from anywhere

ive sent a few phones through aus post, i recommend a normal cardboard box, similar to one that the phone came in, and wrap the phone in bubble wrap. then fill in the gaps in the box ith newspaper. thats usually more than enough.

He said it right there, find a shoe box or something and cut it up, sticky tape it together to make a nice neat box.

Australia Post will charge more on postage costs for items sent in 'irregular' shaped packages, ie: anything not sent in the Aust Post satchels / boxes.

nope, thats crap, i was sending ridiculous amounts of stuff per week and it was always done by weight, or where the size/weight minimum was not exceeded on the equivalent weight limit..
packing in auspost makes no difference..
if it does, you have a crooked posty
all their rates are available online and instore..
you can get discounts on bulk PREPAID postage, but thats totally different.

It is entirely plausible that the Sydney GPO staff are crooked.
I've had them pull out their tape measure a few times for things I've boxed up that they considered to have irregular dimensions.
