what price? i work in a phone store, we sell them for 500 ish. they arent worth that though, they have been make obsolete.
apart from that they are awesome, the camera was good in its day (which was about 1 year ago, its still not bad). but most important, they are a reliable phone. very little problems, unlike motorola.

I'm a contractor for Sony Ericsson Repairs and I have never looked at one so I am taking that as a good sign.
I'm with Vodaphone and they rang me today saying that because I have been with then for a little while I can get a free phone. They gave me a massif list of phones I could have but they were crap, so I asked if they had anything a bit upper spec and they offered the K700i for $173. Obviously this will be locked to Vodafone, but I couldnt give a toss really as I dont use any other provider.
I want to know what audio files they will play as my mates keep sending me cool sounds but my current T600 wont play em

I've heard good reports about them, with the only complaint being battery life, and something about the mp3 playing ability but I think that was actually just a problem with how the link cable worked...

Get the Samsung D500, I got mine a few days ago and its great.
Great looks and function.
90mb's of space!! includes mp3 player, vid recorder, camera and mp3 ringtones..
It's more better and advanced than the k700i but not as good as the k750i.
The newer upgraded version of k700i.

if youre gonna get the d500, you might aswell get the k750. they are the same price, and the k750 is way better (i own a d500).
but hes not looking to get a new phone, hes pondering the purchase of the k700, so for that price it is a good buy.
you can get any ringtone you want on it.
as far as battery life, you MUST charge the battery for 15 hours UNINTERRUPTED for the first charge. this sets up the amount of charge the battery can hold.
oh and with the memory, the k750 can take a 4 gig card...

On a side note, what's wrong with the Motorola's? I was looking at getting a V220 on a $15 plan from Virgin. I'm just looking for a good phone on a $15-$20 plan, doesn't have to be too high tech, what options would you suggest?

I have a K700i, bought it late last year. Battery life is fine, if you have it on standby with the occasional SMS etc you get about 3-4 days out of it.
If you play games on it then it drops a lot quicker as the backlit screen chews power.
Mine has bluetooth and I have loaded over 80 games onto it, definitely handy when you are in a waiting room or just want to kill time. Some of the games are really good quality!
The picture quality of the screen is unsurpassed, and the little torch/light thing on the back next to the camera is handy at night.
My one gripe with it is the joystick occasionally doesn't work unless you use a little bit of force. The joystick on my old T68i did the same thing too.
All in all a fantastic phone though.

WTF!
Ribfeast,
I've currently got a T68i and was looking at replacing it with one of these K700i's.
I'd love to get an S700i (i think thats what it is) but they are still fairly expensive!
My contract has been fulfilled with the t68i from telstra so i've just got to cut it off and go nab my own phone

K700i is a neat little phone, I was considering upgrading to one from my T610 which is starting to really get shagged. The only problem with the SE phones are the joysticks, they start to play up which can be a pain.
The only thing that put me off was that it didn't use a memory card. I would have bought one a long time ago if they had this feature. The S700 was on my list but it is too much money to spend on a phone. K750i looks interesting now that its over here.
For $173 its a steal. The screen is awesome, animations look nice, and MP3 ringtones and bluetooth for that price is great!

Yeah the S700i is rediculously expensive.
The phone I'd really want would be an XDA o2. after having a pda and a phone at the same time, i found that having both integrated would be awesome. But once again, way too much money to be forking out.

yeah, i sent a porno cip to a k700i at a shopping centre while i was working in one of the kiosks .
how much were you looking at for the s700i? the k750 shouldnt cost any more, but it is way better. get that.
and about the motorlas, i say they are shite because the majority of the returns i get at work are motorlas - V3s, v620s and e398s. ive had this confirmed by a dude that works at phonetec (repair centre).
the only other phone that i get as frequently are the panasonics (every model), but they dont sell very much so the returns arent as noticable. but yeah, i am surprised when a motorla ive sold DOESNT come back.

Don't get a locked one, they suck! Saw a mate's K700i the other week, and half the features were missing from it, I forget which network he was with.
You'll notice a BIG difference from the T68i. How's the joystick on the T68i going?

It's going fine. Especially considering I've lost the little ub that goes on the end of it, and just have to use the short fat stick!
Occasionally you ned to use a bit more pressure to press IN the button ... but the phone still works fine. The only thing I dont like about it is the lack of polyphonics (thats cool, it still has other features new phones dont have) and the LAG.
OH GOD THE LAG.
I could write a whole SMS sentence before it's printed it on the screen, you could literally type up a message and then sit back and watch it type itself.
That's why I was thinking I might get a Sony Ericsson Z1010.
NO LAG AT ALL... VERY quick phone... very nice sound quality, mp3 support, memory stick, all functions, bluetooth etc... very fast operating system on it unlike those java based motorolas, clamshell and decent battery life... for around $300 off ebay.
But i dont know if I want a clamshell phone or not...
The K series phones have always appealed to me...
Are you coming to the newcastle meet this sunday ribfeast? perhaps you can show me your phone then...
Cheers
James

The Z1010 is a real nice phone, I have one and can't complain about anything except the sms storage limits, but even that isn't real bad.
For the price, no phone can really compare to it for me. Although my eyes are set on a motorolla v635, I don't know about motorolla's software...?

yeaha mate has a z1010 on 3 network prepaid and it's a great phone.
motorola phones have java-based operating systems (least the newer ones ive seen) and can be very laggy, battery consuming and generally displeasing to use
but i've gotten used to using a sony ericsson so im biased
I wouldnt mind a motorolla V3 RAZR though
hello moto! those phones are HOT!
