my engine is almost ready, picked up clutch which was needed for balancing.
is getting sent for balancing tomorrow
when it comes back the crank will be linished {u do that AFTER the balancing for some reason}
Rods have been acid dipped, shotpeened, bushed, capped on both side of the big end, resized with ARP studs
Crank acid dipped, checked for cracks, ground 20/10, lubed
Block acid dipped, decked and blueprinted to the pistons
lots of exterior parts have been attacked my the bead blaster and the paint gun
will have pics of block tomorrow

got head back
got it fully ported, inlet matched, and fully set-up {guides/lash adjust ect ect}
bolted it to the bottom end, set up cams, engine is now in,
i was putting on some random bit, i looked at the engine, hmmmmmmmmmmmm , that looks a little crooked, engine mount brackets were the wrong way round {about 2 inches out }
engine is completely together, got it vaguely running last night, needs a tune, its disturbingly loud at idle, pipes only.
head specs are as follows
Inlet port
lift, CFM, HP
.100, 33.46, 57
.200, 72.85, 125
.300, 114.28, 196
.400, 128.56, 221
.500, 135.70, 233
Exhaust port
lift, CFM, HP
.100, 30.60, 52
.200, 59.99, 103
.300, 88.92, 152
.400, 111.42, 191
.500, 114.28, 196
apparently this head flows more than a "fully bombed" gemini head {porters words }
so that makes me happy

Judging by the hone marks and US bearings, I'm guessing you'll have 1000km of running in to do, eh?
Running in sucks, it takes so long and all you want to do is stick your boot in it to see how much better it is.
Did you take any pictures of the ports that you could either post up here or send to me?
Is that a Corona centred oil pick up I see in that timing gear shot?
The lower chain tensioner looks a little different from my memories, what's the white looking stuff around the shaft of it?
I hope it works out really well and there aren't any more bolwn head gaskets.
Did you think about o-ringing the block?

bored out 40 thou and ground 20/10, so yes there will be a run-in procedure, might do a few coast runs to rack up some k's

yes it is, funnily enough, its cause its going into my corona

looks the same as my other 4 tensioners, they are spacers, u throw them on so the chain tensioner doesnt have so much slack to take up on start up ect ect
