KE30-55 Coupe-Sedan Rollcage

Is the roof height on the sedans the same as the roof height on the coupe - I have just purchased a coupe and will race it IF i the rollcage I will spend 800 bucks on fabricating can be transferred into a sedan shell in the case of a reshell (counting on it to happen once a season, I race speedway). Can anyone help me out here?
Also looking for a few other KE30-KE55 Corollas.
Desperately need a KE30 for the 3k motor and diff.
Thanks,
Daniel

the roof line on the coupe seems to be much lower, more streamlined. the angle of the front and rear screens are quite different too. im not heaps clued in about roll cages but id say they would be too different... anyone want to clarify this?
my ke30 sedan is 4 door, im not sure about the 2door sedans but i assume they are pretty simular.
the coupe's arent all that hard to find, im sure if you want to reshell youd be able to get a hold of one...
if you send me you're email i can send photos if it will help.

ke10/15, the coupe has a 2" lower roofline..
the windscreens are also different angle..
scott, can you measure from sayy.. the footwell to the first part behind the windscreen that is flat?
if the coupe has lower roof, and more sloped front window, chances are it will fit into the sedan shell too (fwik, 2ddor/4door are same roof), as the sedans typically have more space.
the 2 door sedans have less weight and more body stiffness than the coupes too something to think about (and more space for your helmeted head )

Good point, room for my helmeted head is important because when I was driving the coupe today i noticed that my head was pretty damned close to the roof... and i'm still growing (im 6'2 at the moment).
Yes, I will be racing a 3K, however fitted into KE55 shell as we are allowed to do that in the class I'll be racing in. The class i'm racing in is Junior Sedans, we're limited to 1200 RWD engines (1100FWD and 1000OHC) with nothing but a cam and regrooved tyres, but with safety specs the same as Super Sedans (that sucks). But it won't stay 'legal' for long.
Its good to hear that the coupes are reasonably easy to find. I'll now consider making the rollcage for the coupe. However, it may be hard to keep those long quarters straight enough to get past scrutineering... Were the coupes lighter than the sedans or was it the other way round
The coupe is great, got it running today. Will take it for a 'real' drive in the Pines to get a feel for it!

Forgot to mention one thing...
How much fuel is needed for the fuel pump to start working properly. We put two or three litres in and it still wouldn't start. It was dry at the feeder hose to the pump. We fixed that by simply running the pipe straight into a occy-strapped in jerry can and started doing burnouts
Which head was the best out of the 1200 engines? We were *told* by someone that there was one *good* head out of the range - what one do you reckin it is?

I have heard the big port head off a 3k is the best. I haven't had anything to do with modifying k's but I think oldcorollas is a bit of a guru with them.....try a search.

head space is good, unless you have very long arms and can tilt seat back.
3K big port has welch plug at back of head, and number 24010 on it. it has 30mm intake ports vs 27mm in others. if you are not allowed to port the head or use better intake manifold, the smaller port would probably work better for higher port velocity... big port may be better if you are planning on running around 9000rpm.24010 heads were only from early 3K motors in KE20.
actually, the BEST head for you to use would be any of the K heads since they are from an 1100, you will get 10:1 CR for free with no machining. there is also K bigport heads iirc, but any will be ok for you, the bigger port size is not needed (imho).
the bigport K head will have 22010 cast into it. that is the one to look for. only from KE10 models aas far as i know.
