how much oil usage is normal?

after noticing my oil light stay on for a second or 3 longer than normal at startup, I decided to check my oil levels (yes, I waited 30 mins for the oil to drain from the block).
I found it sitting on the low level of the dipstick...
taking into consideration the fact the engine's running in limp mode, and on unrestricted boost, is any oil use normal or should it be sitting firmly on the "f" level?
I dont want to go to the trouble of modding this engine then finding the whole time a valve seal or some such is letting oil into my cylinders.
as an aside, how much would it cost me to fill my engine with forged goodies? that's a consideration for half a year or so in the future, but if it would last that long burning a tiny bit of oil, it's something I'd look into

It is my understanding that High Reving Twin Cams and such can burn a small amount of oil when driven hard....
Is your car blowing any smoke at all?
Also if you aren't running a Turbo Timer long enough then you could be burning oil in your turbo after turning off the engine.....
If its not burning it you should be able to see it either on the engine/engine bay or on the pavement where you park the car.
But then What do I know anyway.

it's hard to tell if it's blowing smoke, as it's running relaly rich so there's smoke anyhow... but that's how I'm assuming I'm using it as the engine bay is clear, and no oil spots after parking

well mitsubishi allow 0.5l per 1000k for oil consumption on a NA engine
and 1.0l per 1000k on a turbo engine
HOW CRAP IS THAT
so according to them every 5000k your engine should be dry
so why do they reccommend 10000k oil change intervals for the CC GSR
i work for mits so i know this for a fact.
