High mount single turbo on 1g-gte? Wed, 11 December 2002 09:16 Go to next message
Can u high mount a t03 to a 1ggte?

would there be a power gain from running a single turbo setup or better of sticking with the standard twins?

one last question.... how much boost can a stock 1g-gte run providing the turbo or turbos could hold such boost.

Thanks

1. You can put any turbo anywhere you like. Just have a manifold fabricated to suit.

2. Yes, if the single turbo flows more than the stock twins.

3. Depends on your fuel/engine management, intercooler etc. I've heard of these things running over 20psi on a stock bottom end, but I'm sure they could run a lot more if you threw enough money at it.

One of my twins is high mounted (oh, not a std twin either). I thought it was goin to foul the bonnet but it still had a good 4" clearance!!

If you wanted to change the turbo why not go for a CT26 hey are slightly larger than a t03 and probly to be had cheaper, and you can keep it all in the toyota family
