Sure it will - you'll immediately have more wog appeal.
If you've got an E6K already, why the hell not use it?

My suggestion would be to put it up for sale, and ask anyone who's interested whether they'd rather have the ECU or not - chances are you'd be better off the keep the ECU you have than to sell it and then go buy another one straight away.

mate you have answered your own question time and time again. you obviously want mircotech so buy it, personally i think its absolute crap, but this is my view and only my view. i would stick with haltek, EMS or motec

the haltech should be fine for your application if it were me i would stay away from microtechs altho people on these forums use them and get good results. Thats why i bought a Wolf 3d Ver4 Plus which im getting installed and tuned for $1000 as we speak.

only reason mkicroptechs have bad name is the fukin tight asses whoi buy them cant afford to get it tuned properly
i dont know how places can supply wire and tune in ecus for under 2000 and do a very good job
some places fit a full microtech loom and tune it pretty cheap and when i look at the job its so fukt
and then when u go to drive the car it might beok but if its a very cold mornin it runs like shit
it takes afew days to tune any aftermarket ecu especially gettin the cold start to work properly
u need ot keep it for afew mornings and test it
now to do this its not cheap
any ecu needs this sort of work to get it to be good enough so as it doesnt get a bad name
a motec or autronic can be just as bad as a microtech if tuned badly
personally microtech shits on haltech and wolf and ems
mainly becuase they are plain and simple and start every time
most engines dont need ecus with many extras
the main advantage u get with a motec or autrronic apart form more outputs is the actually internal processor and how it calculates everything

Here are some facts straight from an MTX8 user (me)
Engine 4AGTE
ECU: MTX8
Cold start temp range I have experienced and have the car fire first go and idle perfectly on its own: -7 to 42 degrees celcius
Highway fuel consumption: <7L/100km
City driving varied between "spirited" driving and cruising: anywhere from 9L - 12L/100km (depends on how deep the go pedal is buried)
Max power: ~170rwkw @ 18psi
1/4 mile: 12.8 @ 108mph
How long has the MTX8 been fitted: approx 2 years
Comments, it idles smooth, it drives beautifully, it makes reasonable power, has been reliable, and basically does what it's meant to. Anyone who has been in or driven my car always comments on how fantastic it drives. My ECU has been installed correctly and was tuned by a reputable tuner, hence it WORKS damn well.
The ECU doesn't have any/many auxillary inputs/outputs, can't datalog etc, but I don't need those functions so it's fine for me (barely get enough time to drive the thing let alone sit at home and analyse what it's done on a drive).
I couldn't care less what ECU people use as no cash goes in my pocket, but from what I have experienced, every Microtech MTX and later model has performed well when installed correctly and tuned well. The only ones that I have seen perform like most people describe i.e. shit, was installed by a retard and run on a base map with a slight tinkering on the road by a "dude" with no idea .
People really need to back up their claims on this forum sometimes instead of just talking 8th hand bullshit they overheard at a dyno day they went to to watch their mates car run at
Oh, I heard that modified cars are unreliable and it's best not to own one.........
In summary: use what ever ECU you like, they all have pros and cons. If your car is a bucket and you get a dodgy dude to do the tuning no brand of ECU will save you!!!!!
Don't believe everything you read on a forum, some khunts on here have never owned a car let alone turned a spanner

"was installed by a retard and run on a base map with a slight tinkering on the road by a "dude" with no idea"
haha said like a man after my own heart.
i once asked a customer that bought in car who tuned his aftermarket computer. he said he did it himself, and its been running kind of funny since he put it in.i asked, have you had any experience tuning, yes was his reply, ive done a few gas powered RC cars.had the boys laughing for half the year.
if you on a tighter budget get a microtech and spend the extra on a good install and tune. get someone like sideshow to wire it and then go to a good tune place like SAS and get dave or jimmy to tune it or another place that has a good real reputation.there are very few people about that really know the ins and outs of getting the best possible tune.choose wisely.
you woud be looking about the $3500 mark all up.
mick
p.s some tuners are only good for tuning radios.lol
