1GGTE+J160 into RA60..anyone?

Planning to do this conversion to replace the current 20v in the car.
I am worried about the length of the J160, from bellhousing to the stick shift is 30 inches. I dont want the shifter to go too far back maybe 3 inches max. And by moving the radiator forward an inch, I think I can squeeze in this set up.
Has anyone done this before? Any pics that perhaps can share with me?
And can anyone help to measure the W57&58 gearbox? (From bellhousing to the stick shift) If i recall correctly it is 26 inches. Please confirm...thank you

In length, the W5x and J160 are almost idedntical.
the difference is in the shift position, and this can be remedied partially by a large kink in the shifter, however perhaps relocating the shifter would work better.
moving your engine so far foward is not the best idea.
The J160 also runs the same tailshaft spline as a w58. so tailshafts are identical.
perhaps if you wanted a cheap fix, you could shorten the stick on the handbrake, bend the shifter and then cut your shifter hole in your trans tunnel back another 2 inches or so.

Does the J160 have an external shifter like the V160? If so it's possible to shorten it a bit.

And whist the question is up is the width and height of the J160 similar to that of the W5*? ie. if a w58 fits in the trans tunnel will the J160?

Thank you guys for the info and pic.
I think I will try a combination of a shifter kink, engine forward and enlarging the hole. Might put in the GA70 dash and console, then I will have the handbrake closer to the driver side.
My gearbox has the shifter at the forward position. Bellhousing is made to match the 1G. Clutch pump is on the passenger side.
The GA70 halfcut I have in mind has an auto, but it is the cheapest I can find with a nice dash and digital dash.
Do you guys think it is a good idea to use this 1GFE flywheel/clutch(90%)/pressure plate behind the 1GGTE?
By the way : I compared the clutch plate with the 4AGZE : diameter same, fits the shaft as well.

Flywheel should be OK but I'd get a nice new heavy-duty pressure plate and clutch disc if I were you.
