- battery (jump it if need be)
- check the alternator wires (sometimes they corode and need a wiggle)
- starter motor wires
- earth wires (sometimes these are a bastard - in particular check the ignitor pack, it needs a firm earth!)

how do you mean jump the battery??
il try the alternator wires
i know the starter motor wires are ok, checked and rechecked today, i was struggling to get the starter to work
yep checked all earths
yeah i had a bad earth on the ignitor pack once before so i checked that and it is firmly earthed...
anyone want to lend a hand?? i'l shout a case of beer if someone can fix it
thanks

its prolly something simple man.
so if u turn the key, nothing happens?
jump the battery as in, if your battery is flat, get some jumper leads and hook it up to another car, and try starting it - it's most probably dead since it has been sitting there so long
This happened to my car after 2 weeks it was sitting there for the turbo conversion, the battery went COMPLETELY flat and i had to get another battery to make it start and run

its so frustrating because i have been wiating sooo long to start it and it wont start...
thanks for your help

while i was reading your other thread regarding the progress of your 4agte conversion i noticed you mentioned that you shorted a 12v source to your braided line, did you blow a fuse or similar in doing this?

good thought!
but i have checked all fuses and i shorted 12v straight off the battery to the line so there wasnt any fuse to blow, it would have blown a fuse if there was one to blow.
thanks

http://www.mr2mk1club.com/repairsp76.html
that might help
the diagnostic plug in the mr2 is near the ecu at the boot side of the engine bay so it may well be the close to the ecu for you as your using the mr2 loom arent you

thanks i'm looking at the site now,
im actually not %100 sure which version of GZE i actaully have,
as i have airflow meter and coilpacks/ crank angle sensor, and i can never get an acurate answer as to the model of GZE i have, but yes im using the standard loom,
i was also told that i had a slightly better ecu when i bought the car but i dont think this sounds right...
thanks

it will flash once then pause for about 3-5 seconds then flash twice so 1 + pause + 2 = 12

that would be a bigport 8.0:1 c/r version from the AE92 FWD Levin/Trueno.

8.0:1 c/r?? so is this lower than the other GZE's??
8.9:1 for other??
would this be better for more "boost"???

well thats what they say, this version (same as mine ) with the bigports and lower compression/coil packs is great for more boostage

good tune my friend, good tune, no boundaries for boost with a different computer!
i'd limit it to 14psi on the stock comp, goes hard still, on the track it felt nuts

the acuator on my turbo is set at 1 bar so its about perfect..hehe

This may be way off - but I remember years ago when I shorted a battery to earth while it was still in the car I blew one of the fusible links. One of the big buggers with a clear top that should sit right next to the +ve battery terminal
have you checked the fusible links? Just a thought.

There should be 3 in a row basically at the +ve terminal post(I know the car is obviuously not stock.)
They're about 1cm sq with a clear top and coloured sides. If you used a standard loom they maybe under a cover.
Good luck.

So you say you have fuel, so the motor cranks over, you can hear the fuel pump running, and the injectors are firing? If so, the CAS must be okay, cause the injectors wouldn't operate if the ECU was not seeing an rpm signal from the cranking engine....
Sounds as if your problem may be isolated to the coilpacks/ignitor
good luck!
