Cam to dizzy drive ratio? Mon, 18 July 2005 21:53 Go to next message
Is the cam and dizzy drive ratio 1:1 or is it 2:1 on a standard 4age. Cause i was wondering if it is possible for the dizzy to be rotated 180* out and still run?

Some engines have the dizzy running directly off the end of the camshaft, so obviously it's a 1:1 relationship. No your engine won't run if the dizzy is out 180 degrees, you'll get some nice backfires though. Smile

the drive ratio is 1:1, and it is possible to run with the dizzy rotated 180 degrees (if it is possible to clamp it in position) you will just need to swap the plug leads accordingly.

why do you ask?
