I'm currently driving an 81 KE55 rolla with the corona 2S-C in it. I know it's not the most powerful of engines but I was wondering what sort of mods can be done to it to give it a bit of extra power. It seems to run all right in the lighter corolla body, but I'd still like it quicker. An engine swap is out of the question at the moment due to lack of cash funds.
Also, what are the specs on the engine (power, torque etc.)?

hrrmmmm... so its a 2S-C, u might be able to look into other S series engines like 3sge or 3sgte, but they are fwd engines and might need stuff changed around to run in rwd configuration
just a thought.... flame ahead for all i care lol

well cheapest would be cold air intake. Get some pipe and have it goes from carb to back of grill.
Extractors would be alright but for $200 you don't get much back.
turbo it, someone on here did it. Easy and cheap to replace if it ever blows. Well not really "if" but "when"
Port n polish is also useful.
Change the carbie. One off a cortina with an adaptor plate.
But in the end it's still a 2s-c, why waste your money. Save, save & save.

I don't know what you guys have against the 2S, Iknow it is not a Record breaker in the HP department but for a Reliable Cheap engine with decent Power/weight Ratio it is really not that Bad. on the other hand Removing all unnessary Anchilary's EG Air conditioning will Help.
