ST165 GT4 Intercooler ( water to air or air to air)which is best ? Tue, 19 July 2005 04:55 Go to next message
I have a mate with a std ST165 GT4. It is fitted with the std water to air intercooler. He has the option of fitting an air to air cooler from an 1GGTE supra. Which is going to be best ?

the 1G cooler is pretty piss poor, dunno if its worth risking the pressure drop from running all the extra piping for such a small inefficient a/a cooler like the 1G

EDIT: i cant comment on the standard (as Nark would call it) "duck pond" 165 cooler as i have had no experience with them.

cooler from an 1GGTE supra.

I wonder where that come from Razz

might be better off increasing the size of the IC radiator or water injection over the fucking around of puting a small front mount in

nods - a llarger heat exchanger with the water to air setup will definanlty be an improvement on what he has now - as the 165 heat exchangers pretty small

1ggte cooler - well - he could probably find say a jza70 cooler off yourself - and get the piping for that sorted preatty cheaply if he has soace to mount it behind the bar ..

Thats what id be doing either way for a budget swap for a standard st165 gt4
