A Gas Research throttle body will bolt on nicely, it's huge and it comes in lots of different colours.

silly response: the only response to michael bolton is to STFU or die!
seriously: the incoming flow-restrictions are in the AFM and sub-sized piping - enlarge the piping and change to a MAP-based engine management. This requires little if any modification of the TB but substantial damage to your wallet.

so once you've changed to some aftermarket engine management with a MAP setup instead of AFM, and you've got some larger piping, are you saying that makes a difference straight away?
Or rather it provides the potential for more of a difference?

/me thinks the AFM set up blows...
why can't they just take a sample of the air flow (divert a small amount of flow) restrict that, measure the air flow volume/speed, and let the rest go on like a happy little vegemite?

the later - it provides you with:
tunable ECU (rather than blindly tinkering with the AFM)
elimination of obvious flow restrictions
you could put an aftermarket ECU (or a $300 megasquirt ECU like i'll do) on and get less power - the effort will be in the tuning and improvements to induction - then you can focus on stuff like turbo(s), cams, zorst, etc

Because it needs to know EXACTLY how much air is going in.
Your not going to get rid of the AFM without changing the ECU.
That said.....
There are a great many things that can and should be changed prior to upgrading the throttle body and POST upgrading the ECU..
I have only changed mine for just a FEW obvious reasons.

The XF Falcon TB will fit, HOWEVER. THe TPS that comes with it won't be a 'plugin' option for the toyota management I don't think.
It'll be more of a "Plug and Pray" scenario.

Ok firstly, if you want to test the restrictiness of the afm, hook up a manometer before and after the afm, and see the difference in inches of water and you can then convert that back to a reletive psi drop accross the afm. Secondly there is absolutly no fucking need to change the t/body to a larger item if you a) are using stock ecu b) using stock turbos c) stock cooler, ect, you will never see the benefit with any stock components being changed or modified. That said a XF t/body will line up with the bolt holes perfectly, but dont do wat some dickheads do and not bore out the hole in the plenum to suit, you will cost yourself performance that way. But dont always think a bigger t body is better, its all relative to the power ouput and capacity of a motor, just like exhaust size. With a aftermarket ecu you would have no problem using the ford tps either

Didn't say you'd have a problem with the ford TPS with an aftermarket ECU, it's only the standard ECU that would cause problems.

Seriously, it's costly but aftermarket management will change the possibilities endlessly. The amount of fucking around you'll have to do with stock management is just fuckgin silly.

Get engine running, with standard management := Time and headache + probably (wasted) money
Get engine running with aftermarket management := Bit more time, less headache for sure, and money, but not wasted..
Do it once, do it right, or don't complain.

go the stock management.
it is a piece of piss to get up and runnin.
the stock management does alot better than most people give it credit for.
my 28 has run a 12.5 sec 1/4 @ 110.9MPH on factory management so dont be afraid to have a go.
Cheers
