HELP 3SGTE vs 3SGE valve cover gaskets?

hey all im asking for info specifically on the 1st gen gte and ge, im finding it plenty hard to find a valve cover gasket for my 165, im assuming, but not totally sure that it would be the same gasket as on the 3SGE?...any info would be greatly appreciated

after the incredibally pathetic level of service (and extremely high prices) i have recieved from toyota..i dont bother calling them at all anymore...(on one occasion i finally got a phone call from my local dealership telling me an engine mount i had ordered over 11 months before hand had arrived....in that time i had allready obtained a new engine mount at less than 1/4 of the price and finished my engine swap & rebuild)...anyway are the gen 1 and 2 valve cover gaskets the same?

couldnt tell u but the gasket is only 50 or so dollars from toyota for the gen 2 maybe give them another chance  ...

Pretty sure Gen 1 and 2 are completely different. They certainly are on the NA motors.
Try a couple of different Toyota dealers. There's a big difference in the service level that various dealer offer.
I was looking for a 3SGE Gen 2 engine manual. The first Toyota dealer without even checking the computer told me they were no longer available and there's was no way I'd be able to get one.
The second Toyota dealer looked it up and said it would be $40 and they'd have by next Wednesday...and they did.
Shop around!

i dare say the gte and ge are different then, being that the 3sge gasket aftermarket is over $100, ill get all the vin and stuff off my car and call toyota tomorrow to find out...God knows they wont even look for a part number for me without vin numbers and stuff...big deal its an import i still dont see why they need to know every little thing about the vehicle in question jus to compare some part numbers for me  lol
