I am a bit sick of fiddling with the twin solex on my 18rg, and my latest plan is to replace them with a holly or webber. How do i find one, what size would work best, I don't want to go overboard. How hard is the conversion, can you get a kit for it? Anyone know who I might see on the Gold Coast?

Hi all, I am also considering a carbie swap for my 18RG and was wondering if you can put a single downdraft weber 32/36 (from an escort) if so where would i go about finding the inlet manifold is there an interchangeable toyota model from a similar application? Any help would be much appreciated thanx Dan

i think u would see a BIG drop in performance if u went to a 32/36 downdraught weber, you would be going from 4 40mm+ (not sure of 18rg solex size) throats down to 2 throats, 32mm and 36mm, not to mention the 90 degree turn the air has to take before it makes it to the head

a 32/36 is often used on 18r's as something a bit better but cheap, but i think you would be nuts to try n put one on an 18rg
