heys

need to knw if the 5sfe/3sge/3sgte starter motors on celicas and camrys are all the same setup to bolt in

Mine went boom this morning so i will be requiring a new one - hopefully i can scrounge one off a camry or FWD celcia to do the job and save a bit of searching

3S-GE 86-89 have the starter under the manifold, so it will spin backwards.

The gen2 3sge is a little bit bigger than the gen2 3sgte but bolts up still the same

when u say boom did it go boom Razz or is it just in need of a relay many of people have bought new starters and realised it just needed a relay put in

it went boom as in shards of alloy from the starter motor casing now reside in my bellhousing , and possibly my clutch and behind the flywheel Boom

wow, hope there's not too much damage.

Because these things are mounted on the gearbox, I wonder if it's fair to say all 'E' series gearboxes share the same starter (I may be well wrong).

I know the starter off a GT4 slotted straight in to my MR2 (3SGTE) E153 box.
