ok just after some thoughts on this, anything i should know, like what gearbox to use or stuff like that.

Use the standard transmission and a transfer box.
Have you checked to see if the 1u will actually fit in the troopy?

No yet to do that but people do put chev V8's and shit in them so i assume it will fit, i should go and measure my mates troopy, any one got any dimensions of a 1uzfe? what mods will i have to do to get it to the Box

Just remember that a Chev V8 is a push rod single cam where as the 1U is a quad cam! Hellofalot bigger!

i'll go find a tape measure, and ask my mate if i can borrow his engine bay for a day just to do some measureing. but yeah my funds are limited for a while so i might have to wait. but i'll have some more thinking, and looking, and maybe a bit more thinking, thanks.

dunno yet probaly a 75 series (latest shape), unsure on years, but this project wont be happening for a while yet so dont get too exited, like i said need $$$, hell my datsun isn't even regoed yet, so give me about 2 years. i need to do my research 1st. Plan ahead.

Well, remember that Landcruisers (except the 78 series...) come with the 2UZ these days, I don't know my bush bashers well enough, but it *might* be possible to swap bellhousings etc. around a bit to get it in a bit easier? Don't like to think what such parts might cost, though...
