KE30 Knocking?

Hey, my ke30 is making a knocking sound, my first thought was that the motor has a bottom end knock but i dont really know much about bottom end knocking, with a bottom end knock is it always knocking or does it start knocking at idle, mine knocks below normal idle speed, (got weber 32/36 needs to be tuned) my other thought is the tail shaft uni joints are rooted, or my other thought was then when it's ideling rough its shaking somthing on the car. any help would be much apreaciated.

if you apply a small amount of throttle while in neutral does the knocking speed up.
or does it only happen when you are driving it, or does it only happen when u rev the shiat out of it.

while im in neutral and i give it a rev the knocking stops, it only starts knocking when the idle drops lower than normal and the motor starts shaking a bit. doesnt knock when i rev the shit out of it, and doesnt happen when im driving it, only when at shitty idle.

is it a 4k motor.
IT sounds like the timing is out.
my old 4k used to do the same.
knocked its nuts off when idle and fine when u rev it.
reset your points, then reset your timing.
your probably running either too much dwell or too little.

its a 3k motor, and is running electoric dizzy, timiing is set to 10 degrees before tdc, i think i found a possible cause, theres a bracket which the exhaust guy didnt un bolt but cut through it, and is probably knocking against the extractors so , i'll remove the bracket and see what happens.

try running it for a few seconds with out the fan belt. It maybe the alternator or water pump???
