correct A:F ratios for 5ME Fri, 22 July 2005 08:35 Go to next message
ok, now obviously the ideal afr is basically the same for any petrol engine, but what kind of ratios do stock 5ME's get?? has anyone tested it??
the reason i am asking, is mine is running quite rich at the moment, but im not sure how rich is rich, and what to think is reasonable.
thanks for any help.

i thought all 5Me's ran rich stock? they all have terrible fuel economy from the factory.

anyway, there's no way to adjust this factory feature (excessive fuel use so your fuel line never clog up with shit) apart from random tweaking of the AFM spring - which does seem to be a rather archiaic way of 'tuning' an EFI system.

yeah, they all do, but its just a question of how much.
my afm has previously been stuffed around with, and there is a few other problems, so just trying to get it running in a reasonable state of tune.
thanks for the reply.
anyone else got any info???
cheers.
