76 Crown 4M Troubles

heya all,
Well my brother has an old MS85 Crown that hasn't been started for a good 12 monthes and when it stopped going the fuel pump was ratshit so we got a another *working* one,
Got my old man to line it up, put all the fuel lines on etc.,
Put some fuel down the tank, then some down the carb to assist in starting, started it idled and used the fuel in the bowl then stopped?,
It has 2 fuel filters, is that like all 76 4M's, doesn't seem right to me, anyway we bypassed both them to no avail, it's definately getting spark cause it fires, so could some shit have been sucked in the fuel lines?,
that's all i can think of, but yeah still seems strange that it has 2 fuel filters, maybe GT can help me with this,
Cheers All
Trent

Are the filters bunged up? Does the pump actually WORK (i.e. remove a hose and see if it squirts some fuel..) Is the carb all bunged up?
