Removing muffler from hangers

Sorry for the noob question, but...
I'm trying to remove my muffler from the rubber hangers and having no luck at all.
Does anyone know the trick for getting the damn thing off?
I have unbolted the flange and WD40'd the hangers, but they still will not budge. Even tried removing the hanger brackets but the bolts are really difficult to get to
Any words of wisdom gratefully accepted.
Car is a ST185 Group A, if that makes any difference.

LUBE UP !
Put Vegetable Oil or Olive Oil on the rubbers.
Works a treat !
