dude, if you're having problems with rain water getting in, then all you need to do is take the plastic strip off and silicone up the window joints to prevent the water getting in - then put the plastic strip back on - it hides everything underneath, so new or old, it won't matter!

Yeah, Sikaflex is the best for this. Nice and flexible, lasts for years, only problem is its messier than normal silicone to apply, if your not carefull.

But then, wouldn't rain get through and hold in the window, which means rust will eventually form?
If i take these strips off, how easy to put it back on?

Hey,
I think all these guys are refering to the visible black cover surrounding the window. If you remove this u will see a black rubber seal surrounds the window which has most likely. All you do is place silcone all the way around the window and place the visible black cover back in the right clips and rain should be kept out. Hope I explained that well.

You can still get rust with those strips, my car did. The problem is those holes that holds clips to the window. Fill them up with sikaflex, put the clips in, and sikaflex all around the window or use window sealer
