1jz map sensor wiring Wed, 27 July 2005 10:49 Go to next message
Just wondering if anyone knows which wire is which on a 1jz map sensor. They all seemed to show continuity to ground when the car was off? It is now disconnected. I have a new 3 bar map sensor to wire in. I really only need to know which is power and which is ground. At the link below it shows the turbo pressure sensor on page 2 and it is connecter O. If anyone knows which wire is which that would be great Smile

that file tells u nothing

that turbo moost sensor is not the map sensor for the engine

im pretty sure the 1j have a seperate boost sensor for the gauge
the wires are white orange and another colour

not to sure what the wire colors are for the engine map sensor

if i get spare time over weekend ill chase it up

i think light green with red trace maybe is the signal wire
ithen brown should be sensor earth as thats toyota common colour
and 5volt supply i think is yellow

but if u stuff it its yr fault not mine Smile

There is a yellow wire with red stripe
a brown wire
and a white wire (bit dirty)

So going by those colours I would say that brown is ground, white is 5V and yellow with red is signal. What do you reckon? Wink

JZX81 wiring diagram I have shows...

Y-R (yellow-red) -> PIN (Signal)
BR (brown) -> E2 (Earth)
W (white) -> VCC

Check that with a multimeter first of course Smile

Cheers

This sensor is next to the igniter in my car. At the back of the inlet manifold on the firewall. I don't think it matter that much as long as it has a 5v and a ground wire going to it. I am wiring in a 3 bar BM map sensor.

I will test it out how you said. Thanks Smile

Hey?

I am fitting this one so I can datalog boost properly as my boost controller has been setup to boost as much as it wants. This signal wire will go into the wolf and over ride its 2.5bar map sensor incase I want to go crazy on boost in the future.

I will get the wolf doing timing but I am waiting to get a auto shift controller before I do that Smile
