Hey guys.
I'm getting back in the djsence and its been quite awhile since i've mixed so im not really into the songs. What do you guys think of this list im using to start the party and get the crowd moving. There's a club run by my dads friend and the musics being played by the owners son. There busy at times so there might be opportunities where ill control the night hehe.
Justin Timberlake- Like i love you, Khai - K - wang,Nivea-dont mess with my man, Whitney, What you looking at.
Did a demo mixset with the above songs it seems doable. But what do you guys think? (3mb 7minute mp3)

Sounds great man. The only things i have 'issues' about is linkage of the songs. IE: at 2:00 minutes and at 4:44 minutes the junction between the songs seems a bit ummm......weird. I'm a very picky person
Apart from that man, sounds xcellent. Good work. Keep the tunes happening! Keep us posted!
Thanks
Ben

Yeah i know what you mean!.. but its for the new generation. Mostly kids come on fridaynights to party. Saturdays you have the oldies with the retro. It just isnt the same anymore. You play old stuff and people look at you at the both with the thats so 19, 90s look. blah picky crowd hehe

Old school hip hop was pretty funny.. Remember how they tried to make it as clean as possible by rhyming and saying stupid things. Now its just all about sex upfront with the words of actions.

try listening to some not so old tracks from beatnuts, diamond d,slick rick maybe?, fat joe. a lot of the beats these guys used are being used again and again intop 40 hits. eg. j-lo new track is an old beatnuts track and if people recognise the beat as being "new" they should like it. my 2c.

That sounds pretty wicked...
But I agree that at 2 mins and 4:44 is does sound (i hate to say it) shit... The beats cross each other and fuck it all up...
I don't mean to say that it sucks but apart from those two junctions, it sounds wicked... Keep up the good work and I'll be up for a demo CD for sure...
I'm sure if you continue this way, you will go far in the music industry... Once again, good work...

mellow beats for the hot weather! dj shadow, dj vadim, brand nubian, Bias B..
mid nineties hiphop moved to another level i believe with usa and european mc's and dj's going heaps further and producing much clearer well mastered shit as opposed to the older technology of the 80's days. haha NWA, hammer, grandmaster flash.. Guru&Premier
flourished in the late nineties getting heaps more commercial ie xzibit DRE eminem DITC and that shit, BUT most Decent artists went underground like sage francis(non prophets), aesop rock, slug (anticon), last emperor, Mr lif, taskforce, roots manuva, co flow, large professor..
Im just spewing i dont have the cash to get it all on vinyl before it disappears hehe
Anyway aussie hiphop rules over any and word to Certified Wise adelaide crew,
PEACE
