Guys just wondering anyone here know how to bleed the power steering ive filled up with new fluid and added a power steering cooler and ever since that the steering is very heavy , makes a lot of high pitched squeaking when cold while the car is warmed up it doesn’t make any noise any ideas what might have happened , im suspecting air in the system but I have no idea how to bleed it
Any help appreciated
Btw I could be able to control the car with one finger before now its all out the door , any my sis pulsar steers twice as better

is the squeaking the belts?
if it is, check the tension of the belts

I don’t think it’s the belts , but could be cause it only squeaks when the engine is cold when warmed up its doesn’t make any noise im guessing the power steering fluid is expanding when warm and the air bubbles are reduced
Either way nfi what the hell is happening I just want the steering to be back to normal
My friend told me I need to bleed the system but I dunno how to do it

Maybe your cooler is too restrictive and doesn't flow enough when the fluid is cold? What size lines did you use for the return?

To bleed the Soarer power steering system, you just need to get it on full lock a couple of times. ie. full lock left, full lock right. Might have to do it a few times. Worked when I rebuilt my PS pump.
Find an empty carpark.

did all that didnt work for some reason
might have to prop the fron up and do it with no load on the wheels
beggining to shit me now i hate that noise and i hate the heavy steering but i dunno why it works well when its warm
is the cooler too big

Easiest way to see if cooler is restrictive is to get big hose
(at least 16 mm )and fittings and bypass cooler. If problem goes
away you need a better cooler.

be careful when bleeding the pwr steering, I remember southo saying that when turning it full lock left, then right, then left, it can SNAP really fast, so be very careful you dont hurt yourself

Yeah good idea about bypassing the cooler , will try that soon , I thought it would be ok as it was a ford tranny cooler so I didn’t think tweice about having any problems as if it can cool the tranny it should be good for the power steering
