boost controller plumbing Mon, 01 August 2005 01:51 Go to next message
ok what do you guys do/recommend

i have an electronic boost control set up and the solenoid has 3 outlets; one from the turbo compressor, one going to the wastegate and the 3rd one is currently venting excess air to the atmosphere. now i'm thinking as the car is AFM that this excess air that is being vented has been metered and so the car is running slightly richer than it should? or is the excess air of such a little amount that its not worth plumbing it back into the intake after the afm but before the turbo compressor?

Cheers,

to be honest i dont think it's really necessary, but i dont see how it can hurt to have the bleed air go back to the air box before the AFM... this way mr policeman cant whinge about "venting to atmosphere"

At most the air it bleeds off should make 10 fifths of stuff all difference Razz

Please correct me if im wrong people! Smile

To have it vented back into the intake path after the AFM but before the compressor is ideal because although the volume of air is almost insignificant it has already been metered once.
