From what I have found out about them which is very little. no one has really pushed them to the point of breaking, quite an expensive test. I'd have it a guess at about the same as the other w55/58 supra gear boxs

This is the same box used in the 200SX, so it can obviously handle a fair amount of power. It's also used in the Honda S2000.

box was originally from troyopro, but now privatly owned.
they are run behind the rs200 (3sge), mx5 (na & turbo) 200sx and the s2000.
the rs200 & the s2000 have domestic market turbo kits for them which bump the power up to 320-360hp. i have not heard of them failing in these applications.
they should be as strong as a w58 - the casing is constructed differently to the w55/57/58 series as well.
bugman, if you think $2k is expensive for a brand-new 6 speed box, drop down to your local toyota and get them to give you a price (take heart pills if you have an ailment, as you'll need them!!!)

oh I'm not saying anythig about the price as I know what they are worth and 2k is pretty good, but it's an expensive extra gear
and yes I was saying it'd be an expenisve test to find out how tough they are

rod,
it's prety much the same as a w55 type box - i'll send you some pics.
weighs a little bit more due to the extra gear.
the casing is also constructed differently to the w series boxes.
