brake booster

can anyone tell me if the Ra65 has a different brake booster to the RT142 corona. I have put the celica brakes on the front and ma61 brakes on the back but i am having trouble stopping because the booster is sending to much pressure to the front wheels. can anyone tell me how i can fix this problem. I asked my mechanic about a brake bias valve but he said he was almost certain that there isn't one.
Thanks for your help

there will be a brake bias valve beneath the booster or on the firewall - your mechanic is speaking from where he shits.
you will probably need the bias valve from an MA61 (i think) - or if you're keen, you buy an adjustable valve (A few hundred $ these days?) and keep testing/changing until you get the front brakes locking up before the rears lock.
however, you should first check that the rear brakes are actually operating? or that something else is awry? it sounds like the front calipers are doing all the work? are you pushing in a long or short way to get braking effort? is the braking effort gradual or sudden?

So, you're using discs on the back, with a valve that was intended for drums at the back? That's probably your issue. An MA61 (or probably even MX73) valve would be a good place to start experimenting.

it's an RT142 so it cam wif discs on the front and rear.
the braking comes on gradually but is at the top of the peddle where it should be. Oh yeah and i did test the rears and they are working.

Your mechanic is retarded. The booster has exactly nothing to do with brake bias.
If you want to be 100% sure, grab an MA61 master cylinder with bias valve and put that in your Corona. That way you know all the brake components match.

cheers norbie. so you guys are saying that all i need is the valve? or do i have to swap both booster and valve. Also how much is one of those adjustable ones and are they worth it for a curcuit project

The crowns had a valve that was quite large along the left chassis rail that was like a check valve for the rear brakes. It aparently keeps a little bit of pressure in the back lines to make up for wear extra. I had to remove it when I went to discs cause it cause the pads to rub on the disc.
Maybe a suggestion
