'96 Vienta stereo issue Tue, 02 August 2005 02:31 Go to next message
I have a vienta with a radio/cassette and 12 stacker, all made by Pioneer. Now when i bought the car last week, the stereo wasn't working, needed re-coding. Since then everything works fine, but the speakers (while playing CD) sounds hissy, like it's out of tune, but only on vocals, now i don't know if it would be just the laser in the stacker needs cleaning or my speakers are on the way out....

What do you guys think ?

I agree. I guess i can slip a pair of pioneer 6x9 in the rear and replace the standard ones, but i want to put splits in the fronts, but i don't know what size is standard, from past experiance with stock speakers, they will only be 4", i want to go 6" and i want to keep the trims standard and don't want to cut into the door either.

get 5.25" for the front, they will just fit in with no trim cutting.. bu tyoull cut your trim to fit tweeters anyway. 6.9's will need new screw holes.

reccomended to get a 3/4" MDF sheet, plane it on an angle, mount this into the door, mound speaker into this, to angle them up as well.

i have DLS front and rear in mine.

Sometimes when speakers are damaged they hiss on high frequencys, try replacing the speakers, its the lens is dirty the cd player more then lightly wont play at all.

If the speakers are stuffed then fine, replace them, but not with something that needs power.
Just get something cheapish if you plan on keeping the stock deck.

I can guarentee you that;

Stock speakers + aftermarket deck, sounds better than Aftermarket speakers and stock deck.

My 1986 Cressida speakers will still sounding factory new when I replaced them a few years back.
