There are approximately one trillion options. How about you state your goals and budget so we can narrow the field down a bit.

Please list at least eleventy million of these options for him in order from cheapest to most expensive and lowest to highest hp output
79Rona, have a browse through the members cars section and see what other folk are replacing their r-series engines with if you need ideas.
But in the end, how fat's your wallet...........

That's a very low budget for an engine swap... your options will be limited. 18R-GEU is your best bet, you should be able to find a good runner and install it within budget. You might be able to get away with a 1G-GE if you're doing the work yourself.

Hi,
Nothing wrong with an 18RG mate. Out of the trillions of engine choices, only the 18RG can generate a billion horsepower at eleventy million rpm.
Norbie, I've told you a squillion times to not exagerate.

1GGTE, springs to mind. You can pick them up at some importers for as cheap as $750. The more you can do yourself the more cash you'll save, but with a budget that small does limit you.

ok, well an 18RG it would be then...
any tips on the conversion?..i know the links need to be shortened and moved, will my brakes and diff handle the extra power?..
what is a average price on a resonable 18RG motor?
thanks

Diff and brakes will be OK, but a front brake upgrade is advisable anyway since the stockers are pretty ordinary. You might be able to adapt something from a later-model Toyota.
18R-G's can go for anywhere between $100 and $1000. They're not exactly common any more so pricing is highly variable.
