Help on conversion from auto to manual Wed, 03 August 2005 06:58 Go to next message
I am in between converting my mz20 soarer from auto to manaul. THrown out the A340e and have now in it's place a R154. What is the different lengths in tailshaft's. Been told various stories in lengths, centre bearing and yokes. Just trying to speed up the process by knowing what i need and getting it under rather then waiting till i come to that. cheers for an help in advanced

if you need a custom one made up, i think they measure from the end of the gearbox housing to the diff centre yoke. If that's any help.

yeah mate sure a custom is easier enough to get and might have to go that way. I have found a supplier with 4 in stock just need to verify length

If you get a custom one made up, you measure from the centre line where the centre bearing bolts up, to the seal in the back of the gearbox.

At least that is where I've been told to measure it each time I'd had the shaft modded.

And auto to manual is usually an increase of 70-80mm.
