well not exactly, bought it 2 months ago, more or less mint cond, geniune supercharger, the only thing is it has been converted from auto to manual but no problems have surfaced yet, love the car heaps, installed my own cruise control, beat a heap on silvias, 180's etc which i didn't think i would when i first got it, but it is so quick from a standing start, any problems i should look for in them? door hinges arn't much chop on the drivers door, it only has 130,000 km's aswell, not a mark on the paint, have got some pics if someone can post them up for me
good seeing so many other mr2 lovers here, i have the only one in my town and not many people know what it is, thats the best part about it

not a lot of things to look out for depending on what part of japan it came from rust could be a concern the gears in the power window motors can/will strip the t-tops in the s/c versions tend to get a bit leaky when it rains.
Engine wise its a 4agze so dizzy seals camshaft seals front and rear main seals are a biggy water pumps mine shat itself at 180000km bushes/tie rods/ball joints tend to get worn after about 150000 probably earlier...
The good news is that most of these parts are easily available either in the us or through your local toyota dealership...
Another thing to watch for is to keep your dash armoural'd as they tend to crack at the top amongst other places..

Excellent !
Feel the love
yep i have seen a few with dodgey door hinges.
The one i have had for 16 years is fine.
Maybe some people hang off the doors or something...i dont know ?
Anyway its fairly cheap and easy to fix.
You can order in the hinges for under $100 from memory and they are very simple, if a little tight to fit.
You can actually get a SST that helps to install and allows you to adjust the doors. You are more than welcome to borrow mine
And yep post up some pics always keen to seen more AW11s
Check out the anon thread and also MR2OC and TWO BRUTAL for some seroiusly modded MR2s

i'm a fitter and machinest so we redo door hinges with new bushes and shafts, so i can do that no worrys, but when i got it there were a shit load of real small problems that took a bit of fixing e.g interior light didn't work on drivers do, fan didn't work on 1 and 2 settings, glove box didn't shut properly, stuff like that, all fixed now and a pleasure to drive every time, and here are some pics, tell me what you think

Yep,
I know this car !!
Nearly purchased it myself about a year ago.
The give aways are the bonnet pins, the wind shields, the wheels and the prob with the door....it was just about to fall off when i saw it.
The guy, Mark from Mascot was one funny dood !!
He actually let me test drive it from Mascot back to my place which anded up being about 40ks !
He actually had an Aus deliviered NA that he had done an SC conversion on, supposedly he bought this one while he was working on the other one.
It did drive quite well but when i was looking at it it had an intermittent SC fault and just would not make any boost most of the time. Then my current car came up so lost contact with him.
BTW i have been in a 13b turbo 323 it was a wild ride

damn, I guess thats the good thing about this one the tops don't leak
although they have leaked, they have had a dodgy fix, somone got a thin stickyback rubber strip and put it around the seal well i ain't complaining it works, and it doesn't look too bad, its only down in the corners
I might buy a new spare set from the states oneday if you can still buy them

dunno if I would buy them through toyota, that would be stupid, I think k-box on www.mr2oc.com makes a set, surely that would be a lot cheaper.
