JZX81 Chaser / Mk II / Cresta Differences

When I picked up my "JZX81 Chaser" front cut for my cressida conversion, I assumed that it was indeed a chaser.
Now I've found the guide to interpreting the chassis codes, and it appears to be a Mark II.
Now I figure this isn't going to make a great deal of difference to the conversion (all the same chassis, etc. after all), but there are some mechanical differences I have noticed.
For example, the brakes are only single-pot (I understood Chasers were twin-pot), and the rotors the same diameter as the Cressida (although much thicker). Also, I found the hydro fan control behind the ignition key, rather than over behind the glove box. The cut does have ABS and traction control - neither of which will be implemented on the Cressida.
Does anyone know what else differs between the Chaser, Mark II and Cresta, or where I might find some more info? Any searches I have done have yielded little.

my Chaser's brakes were single piston.
There are no real differences mechanically, the panels are the main difference between the models. Did you happen to get a good condition bonnet with your frontcut?

A bonnet?!?!?! At the rate the bloke at Toyshop was unbolting parts as I loaded the cut onto the ute, I'd say I was lucky to get home with much more than a bare block!!
But seriously, there were no panels of any description on the cut, even when I first sighted it. So sorry, can't help you out there I'm afraid
As to the brakes, I am sure some had twin pots though - Celicamad's conversion springs to mind.

I think you will find that there were no JZX81's at all with twin-piston brakes from factory... Always open to new info if someone proves the EPC wrong though

Ah, yes, sorry - my bad. I had found that, just yet to work out its integration into the MX83 wiring ...
Good set of pics, BTW! I thought I'd documented my cut pretty well, but you've gone the extra mile! I might have to refer to them again before I'm done
Looking through your photos, looks like I got more interior bits on my cut, while you got more exterior bits like lights, grille, etc., albeit a bit mushed up.
According to this key, the JZX81-Axxx means Mark II, Chasers are JZX81-Bxxx. The ID plate in your pics shows JZX81-ATPVZ, meaning Mark II. Unless that site is wrong. Which is possible - just because someone put it on their web-page doesn't make it right
Edit: A few pages of pics on and I realise that the Chaser you were referring to was your recipient, not the doner cut.
