anyone know what a 4age 16v would cost to do a rebuild on? I would do it myself with help from a mate.
The big end bearings have gone and it has been sitting for a long time
does anyone know what I would need to replace and what would be best to replace while I have it pulled down?
and also what it would cost as a rough price, any info would be great thanks guys
Is it a FULL rebuild, ie a full servicing of the head too? Or just the bottom end?
You'll need to: clean up everything
Check for tolerances in the bores
Rebore/hone the block
Check crank for tolerances and linish
Deck block
Check pistons/rods, replace if necessary
Balance rotating assembly
New rod bolts/head bolts
New bearings
New gaskets
That's just the bottom end. The head's a whole other ball game. Have fun!
