Gen1 3SGTE block with Gen1 GE head Mon, 08 August 2005 05:12 Go to next message
Hey there,

2 questions.

Is a Gen1 3SGTE block compatible with a Gen1 3SGE head?

Secondly, are all the brackets for ancilleries interchangeable between the two blocks? or will i need to make custom brackets?

I have not had the opportunity to bury myself in engine parts to work this out.

Cheers

Ok then,

how about the blocks, are the mounts / brackets for the ancilleries the same on all 3SGE / 3SGTE blocks?

Cheers

If i was in your place the main things I would compare between the 2 heads is:

location of coolant/oil galleries
cam profiles differences (if any) between GE and GTE
Compression ratio differences (if any) between GE and GTE

Im sure some 3S boffins on here can provide those figures
