okay this is for a friends car, my friends got a bigport 4age head, any suggestions as what he can do for a budget conversion labour is not an issue just buying parts his got about 2,000 to play with for a ae86. basically would need rwd manifold, intake, not sure whether to use stock ecu or go aftermarket like a microtech, and whether to use the small port or big port block.

Yeah, engine is a whole lot more useful than a head Look around, should be able to easily have it running for less than 2 grand. Just look around for parts, and don't let people charge unreasonable dollars for what is essentially old crap...
WITZL and I have both done very similiar things, and it was nice and cheap.

FWIW my friend Ev had his conversion done pretty cheap, brought an old ae71panel van already had a 100kw fwd motor converted to rwd,
Pretty simple swap really.
Just dont ask him where the oil filter is.
Cheers
