sound card help Tue, 09 August 2005 02:40 Go to next message
hey guys
i recently upgraded my computer, but kept my sound card. it is a creative live platinum 5.1 with drive IR. since doing this i cannot get the remote to work i have reinstalled several times but when i try to start remote centre i get a message saying

"Unable to detect any creative remote control reciever.
Please check to see if it installed correctly."

i have checked and everything looks fine to me. the card + remote worked fine on my old comp. anybody else have the same problem with this card?

chris

Have you installed the proper drivers or just the ones that windows finds by itself?
The windows drivers will work fine for standard stuff but if you want anything more (5.1, live-drive etc.) you need to install the proper creative ones.

Note: Sometimes windows tries to trick you into using their drivers by telling you that the windows drivers are newer than the ones you are trying to install or that the ones you are trying to install are not certified.
Just ignore all these sorts of messages and force windows to use the drivers you have provided.
