Handbrake light flickering

On my dash warning light panel, the handbrake light flickers (once, momentarily) when I give the RAV a bit of a hit in 1st gear. It seems to do it on uphills and when the car shifts weight momentum from rear to front, as a result of gear changing. The only thing I can think of is the handbrake switch/button (which is under the handbrake lever), but it takes some force to lift the lever and actuate the button that the handbrake hits, to make the light go on. I'm wondering if there's somewhere else a button or some other type of trigger for the handbrake warning light might be.
Any clues?

Check your brake fluid.

Fluid was only just replaced, along with the new set of front pads... but I'll suss it out. Is this characteristic of low fluid or fluid movement?

Must be a Rav4 thing coz my parents have a 1999 Rav4 and it happens as well.
does it happen less when you drive slowly? and more when you granny shift it?

Granny shift? Please explain...
It only happens when I give it a hit in first... the boost makes the back end squat, so fluid level could be an issue to consider.

yeah the handbrake light is also the warning light for the foot brakes, the light will come on if there is low fluid or i think some master cylinders have a pressure differentiating valve? anyway what your describing could only be the low level indicator light, put more fluid in it, above the max line if you have to

Brake fluid it was... thanks.
It toook in a little bit more than I thought.... the level seemed to be fine, but pour some in and the level would drop a bit as it took it in. I gave it a fill up almost to the top of where the cap sits, no prob's thus far.
Cheers.

Just watch the level when you change the pads.
You'll find that when you push the pistons back in the fluid level will rise, and possibly overflow.
Worth noting.

Thanks for that dude, they've only just been changed over... so I guess some of the fluid will probably diminish slightly with time and usage?

Yes it will slightly drop over time.
But not a huge amount.
And that could mainly be due to pads being worn.
