engine rebuilders, where in syd? how much? Tue, 09 August 2005 08:49 Go to next message
Hi guys, i've got a rolla with a 4agze in it and recently the engine has just shat itself.. now if anybody knew me.. they would know that if they gave me a spanner i'd probly start banging away at the engine like a primape going bananas Razz

i have close to none experience on engine work and im looking at a bottom end rebuild on it, i know this is a good engine worth keeping especially when it gets ripped out for a new project coming along.

i've searched the forums and didnt come up with what i was looking for Nope

my question is, whats a rough figure for a bottom end rebuild on the 4agze (parts&labour) and where would u recommend a place to rebuild in sydney

thanks for reading my post Smile

I just got mine done so I can give you those figues Wink

Clean, bore and hone, linish crank, deck block, shotpeen/polish rods, balance rotating mass, grind flywheel, main/conrod bearings, thrust washers, full gasket kit.

That was just my bottom end. I had a full head servicing as well though. For those bits there, cost was about $1250. If you need pistons as well, add about $600 for new GZEs with rings.

Also note that this DOES NOT include putting it together. This was just all the prep/machining work. Me and my cousin are putting the thing together.

I got all this done at Dominator. Terry's the owner there and he's also a Toymods sponser. If you're going to do something this big, just sign up to become a member if you're not... the discount you'll get will pay itself off tenfold. Trade minus 20% Very Happy

Eddie.
