Tai Tran's AE86 Thu, 11 August 2005 04:38 Go to next message
My names Tai Tran, from Melbourne and i am 18 years old

I own a 1985 Toyota Sprinter and it is completly stock. Ive owned it for about 5 months now, and it has been fully stripped to the shell for a metallic blue paintjob.
It is totally standard atm but once car is painted the 4ac will go back in for a while (for registraion), then a CA18det conversion.

The car had alot of rust, but has since been professionally cut out and repaired, it has been sitting around for about 2 months now. It should be painted this month Smile
i also have 17" sparco rims that are goin on.

THINGS TO COME:

Streeter body kit (DONE)
CA18det or 4agte
Full interior retrim
Stereo System (DONE)
Lowering
Brake upgrade.

Hope this will be done by End of year to attend the Melbourne cruise and to Advertise for my bro's workshop C&D Motorworks at the Melbourne AutoSalon.

Well my car was rusted in the passenger door jamb near the latch, the passenger side rear quarter window, both rear gaurds,
on the rear quarter near the passenger side gaurd, and a little
behind the rear bumper next to the tow hooks.

The rust was quite bad, looked good when i brought it, but once
started stripping off things Glass etc, there was quite abit.
I could poke it and the rust would crumble.

I got it repaired by a mate thats a panel beater , he done it for free. He first located all rust spots measured , cut and then welded in sheet metal and beated it until flat, and used a small amount of filler. all other minor spots got sand blasted and rust-stop was aplied to prevent it from furthur rusting, Then all repaired parts were Highfilled.
