Significant performance drop when warm - 1G

Hey everyone,
when the coolant mark is below "normal" (the middle bar) on my soarer, it goes well. But once the coolant goes up the middle mark, the performance drops significantly. What could this be?
Also, why does it backfire? How do i make it stop?

This is amazing!
This is exactly the same problem that I have.
From your description, this is precisely the problem I am encountering...

Hey mate, check out the last page of the soarer thread. We're talking about my problem there and brainstorming some possible solutions, and things that should be checked etc
Cheers
PS: Soarer thread is in general car talk

Have you replaced the temp sensor (not the gauge one...)?
Almost sounds like the car is in limp mode.

i pulled a code for the coolant temp sensor once
however resetting the ECU, i did not pull that code again.
I do however constantly get the "A/C is on or transmission is in gear" error code, when the transmission is in park and the air con is off. Happens in any gear with the transmission.
by the way, after resetting the ecu, i still have the performance problem after its warmed up, yet yeah, i dont pull the coolant temp sensor code anymore.
*shrugs*

i havent had the coolant temp sensor code come up ever.
How much is it to replace the coolant temp sensor, and where is it located in the engine?

The temperature sensors are near the thermostat at the front of the engine. There's two, one for the gauge and the other for the ecu.
The one for the guage is the on that is on the FRONT of the engine.
The one that is for the ecu is on the SIDE of the engine, under the thermostat near the dizzy.
No idea on how much to replace, I use only quality holden parts..
