I had read somewhere that a throttle cable out of a cressida or something (GX81 or something like that) fits nicely in a ra23 with a 1g in it. Does anybody have said cable?

yep, ive used a MX62 throttle cable on my RA40
works perfect.
you can use the pedal also - just elongate 2 holes on the plastic pivot where it bolts to the floor. i slightly bent/modified pedal rod to sit perfectly
with the flange where the cable bolts to the firewall, i just made it smaller, and put 2 self tappers through it - with a bit of glue
