auto 3sgte info wanted

hey peoples any one know if a v6 camry box would fit into a st162 and would it handle the power of a 3sgte?.
saveing up to do a swap from the 3sfe piece and want to keep the ease of a auto box. if any one has a suugestion\idea about a better choice apart from going to manual i would apreciate it a heck of a lot.

No it wont bolt up. All FWD toyota boxes are basically the same internally so yes it will be able to take the power. Most auto boxes can take power its just how hard you drive them.
So yes it will take the power but the problem it it wont bolt up to the motor..

auto will kill the power anyway... buy the 5 sped sv21 box or mr2 box

i live in the city and like not haveing to change gears. manuals dont like my driveing so am not to keen on them. any idea if a worked box might do. willing to spend extra on torque converter and internals when the swap is nearer. my cuss has a st162 3sgte with a manual and want to beat him useing a auto.

the problem i see with the auto isnt mechanical, wouldnt me too hard to bolt it up
but more electical -- what the hell are you going to run to control that auto?
it wont fit space wise anyway me thinks -- the A541E/+/newer autos are HUGE

i have played with a 3sge with an auto
the autos run a seperate ecu for them
it needs to be wired up but first u need to find the ecu i have only seen one and it was in a car

V6 auto will bolt up (s,vz,mz bolt patens are all the same  )
but you may have issues with mounts, the other thing is they are electronic controlled and a 3sgt computer has not got any control for it.
What we have done on the few we have made auto is use a SV21 non electronic auto, it fits easy and works well (a little slower off the line but awsum as it holds boost through gear changes).
As far as strength we have done 4 of these in the last 4 years and had 1 auto blow up and it was a little sus to start with.
Do it it's good.
