1G engine into xA23 - a few quick specs needed Fri, 20 December 2002 03:00 Go to next message
Does anyone know the weights of these engines? (1GGE, 1GGZE, 1GGTE, 18rc and 2T...) I guess I am asking what is the realtive weight difference between a 18rc and a 1GGE (or with induction).

And also what sort of performance 0-100 or 1/4mile would you expect from a xA23 with a 1G of some description. As the car is light I would ecpect it to be quick off the mark!

Those of you who have done this please speak now!
Thanks

1GGZE/TE weighs approx 175 kg with all alternator but no air con. I would expect the 1GGE to weigh slightly less as no turbo or blower. Weight of our TA23 came in at 1070 so the difference between the 18RC and 1G engines (as fitted) is neglible. I did notice however the handling was improved as the weight seemed better distributed with the 1G.

1/4 mile time - never clocked it.
