can't say that i've done this, but according to what i've heard, this is common paractice. the TVIS cams have higher lift and longer duration that any other cams up till the 20Vs... so go for it, it should in theory be good for some kind of benefit!!!

if someone can be botheref digging up the specs, post them here so we can compare... i know Bill will know...

Ok I heard the same thing about two years ago and so decided to measure up both cams , With the cams still in the motors I measured and dialed up both TVIS and ZE cams and they both had the same duration and lift .

I was just at club4AG and they suggest:
7.56/7.56 lift for bigport
7.1/7.1 for GZE. (in/exh, all mm)

There is also longer duration on the big port cams.
Either TRD bible or 4AG II book suggests a difference of 8deg. Up from 232 to 240deg from memory.

Earlier AW11 GZE may well have TVIS cams, maybe even into AE92, but at some point they surely changed.
If you have lower lift and duration type, it would do well to source a set of TVIS cams for the right price. 8 deg and .4mm of lift may seem small, but for the little cost, I think it would be worth the effort.

A friend is putting my spare cams into his turbo GZE, but funning thing is: he needs my spare RWD manifold for his GZE: aparently the FWD manafold's ports are too small. (He actually put manifold on motor and found out!).

Looks like there are many variations of the GZE as there are 4AG.

Jaz
Note: non interferance and 'turbo' piston design of GZE pistons means extra lift is not an issue.
