Do the night vision monocula use batteries?
What brand is it?
Have you been able to use it all? I guess a tourch would still be better to work with than the monocula if you had to fix a problem with your car.

The night vision can run off a 9V battery,
but works better with a 12V supply, a 12V SLA is a good choice.
I have no idea what brand it is
but i'm pretty sure the US military used to use these tubes in some of their night vision scopes, due to the high resoultion of the fibre optic tubes it is possible to magnify the output, rather than use a bigger objective lens, which has to have a large diameter to collect enough light to be useful.
it's all home made, except for the fibre optic tubes, ojective lens and eye piece.
I dont think i have any pics...
and i still dont have a digi cam..
But you are 100% right in that a torch is easier to use when fixing the car
NB: i just found the 2nd lens and its actually 135mm, not 185mm
the 135mm lens is a Soligor Lens, and the 50mm is a Carl Zeiss Jena
