Transmission coolers Tue, 14 May 2002 13:45 Go to next message
Has anyone had experience purchasing/installing one of these?
What sort of core is used ?
Approximate prices to suit an A340E Soarer box ?
Could I install one myself ?
Any additional pumps required ?
How about an inline filter to prolong the life of the box ?

I fitted one years ago on a worked 6 cycl. crummydoor - worked a treat - stopped cooking the trimatics during extended helis.
Still got it if you want it for nothing - dimmensions are about 200mmX300mmX15mm.
From memory you've already got a cooler line running to the bottom of your radiator - just needs to be tapped into the return line with some quality hose and clamps - probably mount it inside your LHS wheel arch behind front bar opening - as per stock IC in RHS position.
I assume there's already a filter in your autobox as in most/all others.
Regards

If you still want to get your hands dirty, here are some pics of a power steering cooler install on a Soarer. Same theory applies for the autobox cooler.
