Corona RT142 IRS in ST141

Hey all,
I recently obtained something I never thought I would own, an ST141 Corona but for $100, i'm not complaining.
Now obviously this thing is going to get some serious upgrades.
Will the IRS from a 142 replace the Borg Warner live axle easily? I assume the answer is no but hey, enlighten me.

nope my uncle said he looked at doing it basically would invlove bolting the whole rear end up of the IRS model, would be cheaper just to go and source an RT142 with irs and buy it and sell your st141.
Most ppl that have them say they don't really handle a lot better than the live rear models mainly due to the fact its not an advanced irs setup. Either throw a good set of springs shocks and maybe swaybars at the ST141 or look at getting an Avante with it already done.
Also remember not all 142's are irs its only the aus spec avante's and some jap corona's.

Cheers, confirms my suspicions.
Wasn't so much concerned about handling, thats what the Soarer is for, but mainly the ease of fitting an LSD center, mainly for strength, as i'm doing a 1G-GTE swap soon.

There is a ST141 conversion in the latest Zoom that has a R31 Diff in it, but that rear end is a bitza of shortend Sigma tailshaft behind a S13 5 speed and axles outta something else. The R31 center, I strongly doubt fits a borg warner housing. R31 diff's are compleatly weak anyway, this guy obviously did that because combined with the CA-18 puss motor under the bonet, deep down he's a Nissan head.
