New Hobart Meeting Spot ! Thu, 18 August 2005 01:45 Go to next message
As you all maybe aware for some time we have been trying to hold a regular gathering in Hobart where car enthusiast can meet without being a public disturbance.

We have held a number of successful meets at the CSIRO Car Park in Hobart. However, due to a number of reason's we have decided to move the meet to the Coles/Kmart Car Park in Newtown.

Conditions:

• We do not condone any stupid behaviour (i.e. burnouts, racing, etc).
• Keep stereos at minimal volume (you can turn them up, just don’t make them intrusive).
• Clean up after yourself. Do not leave any rubbish onsite.

When:

• Every Friday night at 8:30pm.

Directions:

• Heading out of Hobart turn left off the Brooker Highway into Risdon Road. Leading up to the turn off you will notice a number of hockey and soccer fields on the left.
• Almost to the next set of traffic lights you will notice the Coles/KMart shopping complex on the left.
• We usually meet on the left hand side portion of the car park; it won't be hard to find us.

More info:

• This scenario will keep hoons off the streets, therefore hopefully the Police will support this and back us up (stranger things have happened!).
• There are speed humps, but they're pretty tame/small. However keep an eye out for parking blocks!
• Often we will go for a cruise later in the night, so bring your UHF radios.

UHF Channel - 12.
• When on a cruise and UHF radios are being used, talk as much as u like, but when someone starts broadcasting important information, please dont shout them down.

REMEMBER!!! PLEASE BEHAVE
That means no burnouts, no hard acceleration, no racing etc ~ please don't be an idiot, because believe me you'll look like one!
DONT SPOIL IT FOR THE REST OF US!
