Octane booster, how good does it work? Sat, 20 August 2005 03:57 Go to next message
Hi

I been looking to try some octane booster, but how good does it really work?

is there any prosentage on how much horsepower will increase, lets say from 95 octane gas to 105 octane, with a regular stock engine?

thanks for any answers

Very Happy

prosentage........wtf..... Rolling Eyes

as for your question....

I dont think u will notice much difference... ur engine may run smoother, but your not gona cut 3 seconds off your 1/4 mile.. Wink

This stuff is used, I believe, more for preventing pinging/knocking/detonation ect than boosting horsepower as such..

yeah its mainly used when you cant find yaself PULP if your car needs pulp. theres no difference if ya cars meant to run ULP. a fair amount of newer cars run PULP with retarded timing for ULP though -- check your users manual.

there are reasons to use it, it indirectly allows more power to be made without blowing up the engine.

if you need it use
- nulon octane booster
- toluene
- race fuel

all others rate lower and cost way more. nulon is nice and small, easily avaliable and costs about the same as toluene overall, and you dont have to cart a 40 gallon drum around, due to toluene being a high mix ratio.

interesting read

do a search should be heaps on this!i know i have written alot on it over the years.
there are alot of mixes you can make yourself that cost alot less!but if your using a standard computer with a basic mod setup dont bother just use pulp.if you really want to make your own aditives or fuel pm me and ill give you a few recipes.but for the time it takes to get the things together then mix them you will want a very good motor and or a aftermarket computer to get the use out of them.hahahaha i can tell you brocky's targa monaro pinged its head of when we bought it back to the ferry after targa and put optimax in it!lmao
